Wood fired kilns May 2024...

An exciting new adventure in learning about wood fired kiln, the glaze and the process. There are many wood, gas and oil fired kilns around owned by potters and ceramic schools. Each kiln has its own temperment, working needs and fuel requirements. There are many different tyoes if kilns. The kilns I am interested in use waste wood from any industry, garden or woodland. The kilns I am interested in will fire to temperature with 3, 6 and 10 hours reaching up to 1350 degrees and more. The results will vary depending on the wood, clay and glazes used.
